The focus of the new event and business centre in Kitzbühel is on transparency, directness and providing a warm welcome to visitors. Its architecture reflects these aspirations. The previous building used by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKÖ) in the Josef-Herold-Strasse was more than 37 years old and thus underwent complete reconstruction in 2009 - 2010. The building now has twice the previous floor space and combines a traditional Tyrolese ambience with elegant and contemporary design features. Integrated in the International KitzKongress Congress Centre, or ‘K3’ for short, are shopping facilities and the regional offices of the WKÖ in the Tyrol, the No. 1 stop for businesses and entrepreneurs in the Kitzbühel area.

The refurbishment was not only necessary to ensure that the current level and quality of services could be maintained - the objective was to augment these. One specific aim was to make available an appropriate venue for larger conferences and multi-day congresses.
